The UK range was a simple one. The diesel option is the 1.6-litre i-DTEC – also found in the Honda Civic and the Honda CR-V – which is powerful, smooth and on paper returns mpg in the mid-50s, a figure readers regularly beat, according to our Real MPG data. Impressive for a car of this size.
Unfortunately Honda have decided not to pursue a higher capacity alternative which seems to be a growing trend among manufacturers. PSA group, Nissan/Renault, Kia/Hyundai all have small capacity diesels only It does limit the appeal of the Honda range in my opinion but the 1.6 i-dtec works for me personally.
Fuel Consumption - Economy Combined: 56 MPG 4.2 L/100 km 67 MPG UK: Honda Civic 9 2.2 i-DTEC Comfort Fuel Consumption (Economy), Emissions and Range.
Fuel economy in city is 4,2 lt/100km, Fuel economy in highway is 3,8 lt/100km and combined fuel economy is 4,0 lt/100km according to officially published data by manufacturers. HR-V II 1.6 i-DTEC real World MPG/consumption is 5,8 lt/100km. It is expected to consume 46 percent more fuel than factory data in real conditions and during test drives.
